Senior Composite Engineering Specialist
Our client company is a major manufacturing /engineering company based in South Down and are now recruiting for a Senior Composite Enginieering Specialist.
You will be be responsible for the manufacturing engineering aspects of end-to-end composite processes across the supply chain to ensure a high cosmetic standard.
Key Responsibilites:
- The development and application of composite manufacturing processes from sourcing and selecting raw materials, their storage and handling, as well as, the operational steps within the process; fabric cutting, lay-up, curing and finishing to the final stages of trimming and painting to ensure a high cosmetic standard.
- Leadership of concurrent engineering activities from an operational manufacturing perspective to achieve design for assembly and to facilitate the procurement of such materials.
- Liaising with our global customer base across the globe.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to bring about cost reductions and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Proving support to other multi-disciplinary teams including NPI and manufacturing engineering activities across the facility.
The Person:
- 3rd level qualification in materials, mechanical or aeronautical engineering or related.
- Previous experience in composite manufacturing engineering.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships at all levels.
Desirable: Knowledge of; resin transfer moulding techniques, certification and product validation processes, experience across a range of composite processes, design and set-up of manufacturing processes, project management, optimising the product design to exploit benefits of composite resources.
